Canada outscore Jamaica 4-2

Jamaica suffered a setback ahead of next February’s CONCACAF Under-17 World Championships qualifying matches, when the young Reggae Boyz were beaten 4-2 by Canada in a friendly international at Jarrett Park in Montego Bay yesterday.



The match was the first of a two-match friendly series between the teams. The second match will take place tomorrow at the same venue.



Jamaica and Canada are using the matches to gauge their state of readiness going into the CONCACAF World Championship qualifiers, which will be staged at three venues in western Jamaica.



Twelve teams will take part in the two-week qualifiers in Jamaica, from which four teams will advance to the FIFA World Under-17 Finals.
