St Lucia appeals for Tomas help

The St. Lucian government is appealing for international help to deal with the devastation caused by Tropical Storm Tomas.
Five people have been confirmed dead so far.
Prime Minister Stephenson King has asked France to assist the island with search and rescue in the aftermath of what is already being described as the worst ever natural disaster in St. Lucian history.
Mr. King has placed damage from the disaster at an initial US$37 million
The worst affected community is the west coast town of Soufriere, where homes were washed away with their occupants inside.
