Young Boyz heading for Brazil
Jamaica’s Under-17 head coach, Wendell Downswell, says the young Reggae Boyz will be heading to a camp in Brazil next month to continue their preparation for the CONCACAF Under-17 World Championships qualifiers.
Downswell confirmed the Brazil camp after Jamaica avenged their 4-2 defeat on Sunday by beating Canada 1-0 in Game Two of their Under-17 friendly international at Jarrett Park in Montego Bay yesterday.
Romario Jones scored the lone goal for the young Reggae Boyz.
Jamaica and Canada used the matches to gauge their state of readiness going into next February’s CONCACAF Under-17 World Championship qualifiers, which will be staged at three venues in western Jamaica.
Twelve teams will take part in the two-week qualifiers in Jamaica, from which four teams will advance to the FIFA World Under-17 Finals.
