Jamaica College and Bridgeport to contest Walker Cup Final

Defending champions Jamaica College and Bridgeport High have earned the right to contest the 2010 ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel urban area Walker Cup Knockout final, following semi-final victories today.



JC advanced to the final after a 1-nil victory over Norman Manley in the first semi-final at Prison Oval in Spanish Town. An own goal handed the defending champions the victory.



In the second semi-final at the same venue, Bridgeport High also secured a 1-0 victory, this over Eltham High. DeShawn Rainford scored from the penalty spot in the 59th minute.



Eltham High had missed a penalty a few minutes earlier.



Meanwhile, champions St Elizabeth Technical High School were held to a goalless draw by Spalding at Brooks Park in Mandeville as the inter-zone round of the ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel rural area daCosta Cup competition kicked off today.



In other games – Marcus Garvey defeated St Mary High 3-0 at Drax Hall in St Ann and Lennon blanked Manning’s 3-nil at JAMALCO.
