Bridgeport beat St Georges in Manning Cup football
St George’s College received a slight setback in their quest to defend their title after a 2-1 defeat to Bridgeport High as the second round of the ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel urban-area Manning Cup football competition continued yesterday.
The game was the second match of a double header at the Constant Spring field.
In the opening match, Jamaica College stayed on course to qualify for the semifinals with a 1-0 win over Kingston College.
The victory pushed Jamaica College to the top of Group Two with maximum six points, three ahead of Bridgeport High and St George’s College, who are both tied on three points.
Kingston College have no chance to qualify after losing both their games.
