The Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO) says it is optimistic that its proposals for a more equitable reform of Britain's controversial Air Passenger Duty (APD), will get a fair hearing from the UK government.

Member states of the tourism association attending the World Travel Market in London are using the major tourism fair to push their case that the distance-based duty penalises long-haul destinations, especially the Caribbean.

Jamaica's Tourism Minister Ed Bartlett says the Caribbean is getting the support of other countries in its push to have the APD reconfigured.
