MoBay Mayor to chair U-17 qualifying series

Montego Bay’s mayor, Charles Sinclair will chair the Local Organising Committee for the CONCACAF Under-17 World Cup qualifying tournament to be staged February 12 to 28 in Western Jamaica.



Sinclair will have Jamaica Football Federation’s (JFF) first vice president Bruce Gaynor as his deputy.



Western Football Confederation chairman Linnel McLean will also be apart of the Local Organising Committee.



JFF’s general secretary Horace Reid has been temporarily relocated to Montego Bay to co-ordinate the event.



The CONCACAF finals will attract 12 teams for the first time, an increase over the usual eight. The teams will be vying for four places to the Under-17 World Cup in Mexico.



In addition to the tournament, Jamaica will also host the Caribbean Football Union Congress in Montego Bay. The Congress will be held February 23 to 28.
