Dane Nelson ticks off three timer

Jockey Dane Nelson continued his good form at Caymanas Park today with a spanking three-timer on the nine-race pre-Superstakes Day card.
Nelson opened his account in the first race by booting home the 1-to-9 favourite TRICKY TRAIN in the native-bred four-year-old and up restricted allowance event over 1500 metres. The Harry Parsard-trained four-year-old bay colt won by all of 10 lengths.
His other winners were OUR DELIGHT at 2-1 in the second and COBRA at 3-5 in the sixth race.
As a result of the three winners, Nelson has joined the injured Aaron Chatrie in second place on 57 winners. Champion jockey Omar Walker leads the standings with 94 winners.
Meanwhile, fourteen distance horses are down to contest the 32nd running of the Caymanas Track Limited Superstakes over 2000 metres at Caymanas Park tomorrow.
Ante-post favourite is this year’s Triple Crown winner MARK MY WORD, with Dick Cardenas riding for trainer Richard Azan.
The field also includes last year’s shock winner, HOMBRE, to again be ridden by favourite jockey André Martin for veteran trainer Noel Ennevor and THE GUV, to be ridden by Omar Walker for trainer Spencer Chung.
