New phone hacking evidence handed to prosecutors

A file containing new evidence on the News of the World phone-hacking scandal in the UK has been submitted to prosecutors.

Scotland Yard says detectives have passed the papers to specialist lawyers at the Crown Prosecution Service.

The move comes after the Conservative Party's communications chief, Andy Coulson, was interviewed earlier this month as a witness.

The former News of the World editor denies knowing about the hacking, which led to one journalist being jailed.
