Pyne, Lewis win main Badminton titles

Charles Pyne won the men’s title at the 2010 All Jamaica Senior Badminton Championships, which ended yesterday at the Constant Spring Golf Club’s badminton hall.
Pyne took the title following an exciting 22-20, 21-23, 26-24 victory over Gareth Henry.
Pyne went on to take a second title when he teamed up with Christine Leyow-Mayne in the mixed doubles to defeat the team of Henry and Kristal Karjohn 21-13, 20-2, 21-17.
Henry then teamed up with Garron Palmer to win the men’s doubles. The pair beat Willroy Myles and Vijay Myles 21-16, 22-20.
The Ladies Singles title went to Alya Lewis, who defeated Carla Grant 21-15, 21-10 in the final.
In the Ladies doubles, Leyow-Maine and Karjohn had a bit of a scare from the junior pair of Shana-Kay Bailey and Sheinell Hyatt before winning 23-21, 21-13.
It was a double-title for Leyow-Mayne, who had earlier won the mixed doubles.
