PAM wants bipartisan talks on crime
The leader of the main opposition People’s Action Movement (PAM), in St. Kitts Lindsay Grant, is calling for a bi-partisan approach to dealing with crime in the country.
The call comes after 17 tourists were robbed at Brimstone Hill, one of the island’s main tourist attractions.
The visitors, who were passengers on board the Celebrity Mercury, were robbed of cash, jewellery, cell phones and other personal items.
The police say they’re searching for the gunmen who held up the bus carrying the tourists.
Grant says he wants the Denzil Douglas administration to use the occasion to bring all the parties together and make a joint statement to fight the scourge of crime.
Meanwhile, the attack on the visitors has also been condemned by former tourism and national security minister Dwyer Astaphan who have called for increased security at spots visited frequently by tourists.
