Bennett says he was asked to step aside

Long-standing coach Junior Bennett, who was asked to resign as Jamaica national cricket coach, has dismissed reports that he will remain with the national programme.



Bennett says he only received a call from the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) this week asking him to step aside.



Bennett has made way for former West Indies coach Gus Logie, who will take over as head coach of the Jamaica 20/20 and four-day cricket teams.



Logie is expected to take charge of the team beginning on December 1.
