Jamaican leads Derbyshire to victory

Jamaican Wavell Hinds hit an unbeaten 42 from 46 balls to lead Derbyshire to a seven-wicket victory over Leicestershire in their 20/20 Cup match at Derby in England yesterday.



Leicestershire batted first and were restricted to 118 for six off its allotted 20 overs with Hinds taking two for 14 off four overs.



Derbyshire replied with 122 for three off 18 overs.



With the victory, Derbyshire are now in with a chance of qualifying of the quarter-finals.



Jamaican Gareth Breese lashed a six off the last ball of the match to lead Durham to a thrilling tie with Yorkshire in their 20/20 match.



Chasing 160 to win, Durham needed 12 off the last three balls to win.



Liam Plunkett drove a boundary through the leg side and added a single before Breese cleared the extra cover fence off Tim Bresnan’s final ball.



Breese was unbeaten on 21 from 14 balls.
