World Bank approves US$150 million loan for Dom Republic

The World Bank Board has announced the approval of a US$150 million loan to the Dominican Republic to support social protection programmes.
The fund will help to improve access to education, health and nutrition in more than 600,000 poor households.
Another country receiving funds is Antigua and Barbuda which is to get a grant of 9 million euros or US$12 million in budget support from the European Union.
Grenada and Dominica have received money under the same programme aimed at assisting members of the African, Caribbean and Pacific group to respond to the economic crisis.
