Tivoli maintain lead despite draw

Tivoli Gardens maintain their two-point lead in the Digicel Premier League despite playing to a 1-1 draw with Village United at Jarrett Park in Montego Bay yesterday.



Jermaine Taylor scored for the home team in the 75th minute before Cordell Simpson pulled Tivoli Gardens level three minutes later.



As a result of the draw, Tivoli Gardens have moved to 30 points, two ahead of second place Waterhouse, who had to settle for a draw also. They were held to 1-1 tie by hosts Reno at Frome Complex in Westmoreland.



Boys’ Town maintain their third place despite losing 2-0 to Arnett Gardens in the Trench Town derby at Anthony Spaulding Complex.



Arnett Gardens have moved up from ninth to eighth place following the victory.



Over at the Harbour View Stadium, defending champions Harbour View edged Portmore United 1-0. Following the victory, Harbour View have now joined Portmore United in fifth place on 24 points each.



In other games, Sporting Central Academy and Humble Lion battled to a 1-1 draw at Brancourt in Clarendon and Benfica edged St George’s 2-1 at Drax Hall in St Ann.
