United States-based Beverage Company Coca-Cola has signed as the official sponsors of the CONCACAF Under-17 tournament, which will be hosted in western Jamaica from February 12 to 28 next year.

Roberto Mercade’, general manager with responsibility for Venezuela and the Caribbean region, made the announcement at the Coca-Cola/Wisynco Franchise signing last night at Terra Nova Hotel.

He says the sponsorship will benefit the Jamaica Football Federation from a financial and resource perspective.

The tournament, which includes 12 teams, will facilitate the qualification of four teams from the region for the 2011 FIFA Under-17 World Cup to be staged in Mexico from July 18 to July 10.
