Former minister urges Grenadians to support NNP

Former Foreign Affairs Minister, Dr. Raphael Fletcher, whose resignation led to the collapse of the Keith Mitchell government, has come forward to endorse the party ahead of the July 8 general elections.

Dr. Fletcher, who quit the government over differences with Prime Minister Mitchell, appeared on a New National Party (NNP), platform calling on Grenadians to support the party’s request for a fourth straight term in office.

Dr. Fletcher\'s endorsement of the NNP has come as a surprise to political observers since he was a harsh critic of the Mitchell administration following his departure 10 years ago.

He is the latest in a number of former government ministers, who fell out with the government but have returned to support its election campaign.
