Jamaica’s National Under 20 women’s football team arrived home yesterday after failing to qualify for the FIFA World Cup.
The Reggae Girls finished Zone ‘B’ of the CONCACAF Qualifying tournament in Mexico in third place behind Canada and Costa Rica.
Jamaica ended the qualifying tournament in style with a 6-0 whipping of Nicaragua with Shakira Duncan scoring four goals.
The semi-final of the tournament will be contested tomorrow. The USA and Costa Rica will face off, while Mexico will take on Canada.
The two finalists will not only play for the CONCACAF title on Saturday, but will also qualify to the FIFA Under 20 Women’s World Cup in Chile later in the year.
