JC on course for Triple Crown

Jamaica College (JC) remain on course to win the Triple Crown after whipping Bridgeport High 3-1 at the Constant Spring field yesterday to take the ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel Walker Cup knockout title.



JC, who won their first Walker Cup knockout title last year, have now secured back-to-back title.



The victory means that JC have won their first-ever Urban Area double having already bagged the Manning Cup title last Saturday.



JC were led to Walker Cup Knockout glory by captain Ashani Walker who hammered home two goals. Walker opened the scoring in the 60th minute and secured the victory for his school in time added on.



Nicholas Scott scored the other goal for JC, two minutes after Walker’s opening goal.



Jamiel Hardware scored the lone goal for Bridgeport High in the 84th minute.



The match-up was the third between the schools since the 2010 season with JC winning all the battles.
