Saudis financing Sunni Terrorists

A classified document released by Wikileaks has revealed that US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had warned last year that donors in Saudi Arabia were the most significant source of funding to Sunni terrorist groups worldwide.



In the document, Clinton said it had been an ongoing challenge to persuade Saudi officials to treat such activity as a strategic priority.



In the documents, Clinton said the groups funded include al-Qaeda, the Taliban and Lashkar-e-Taiba.



The memo also criticises efforts to combat militants by the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait.
