Jamaican Bridgmohan gets 20th stakes win

Jamaican jockey Shaun Bridgmohan continued his impressive streak of stakes win on the weekend, when he captured the US$100,000 co-featured My Charmer Handicap aboard Askbut I Won’ttell at Calder Race Course in Miami.



Bridgmohan steered the 7-to-1 chance to a three-quarter length victory over Trip for A.J., under John Velazquez, to collect his 20th stakes victory for the year in the United States.



Askbut I Won’ttell, a four-year-old, chestnut filly, covered the 1,800 metres on the turf in one minute, 47.91 seconds to prove that her Cardinal Handicap victory four weeks ago, also under Bridgmohan, was not a fluke.



Meanwhile, Jamaican trainer Ralph Ziadie saddled the 2-to-1 bet Speed Angel, which won the US$10,200 seventh race by a commanding 9-and-a-halflengths.



Speed Angel, under Paco Lopez, covered 1,670 metres in 1 minute, 47.91seconds to give Ziadie only his second victory for the winter season.
