Roach cops Man of the Series award
West Indies pacer, Kemar Roach who was named Man-of-the-Series, in the just concluded series against Sri Lanka, says he was proud to help his side draw the series.
Roach was the most successful West Indies bowler in the series, when he collected 10 wickets at 24.50 runs apiece in the three-Test series, which ended in a 0-0 draw, following unrelenting rain over the last three weeks.
Roach says he put in the hard work and always tried to challenge the techniques of the Sri Lankan batsmen.
He further says the pitches in Sri Lanka are very tough for fast bowling so he was really happy to come away with something to show.
Roach took his second career five-wicket haul during the second Test in Colombo and consistently hurried the batsmen with pace and bounce off the slow Sri Lankan pitches.
The teams will hope for better weather for the start of their five match one-day series on Thursday in Hambantota.
