Sri Lanka, Windies ODI Series postponed
The cricket boards of Sri Lanka and West Indies have postponed the One-Day international series due to the current spell of poor weather in Sri Lanka.
The first two matches of the five-match series were scheduled to be played on Thursday and Saturday at Hambantota, one of the new venues that will host 2011 World Cup games.
However incessant rain has prevented the teams from holding any outdoor practice since arriving at the venue three days ago.
Colombo was to host the remaining three games before the tour was to be rounded off with a 20/20 international at the same venue.
The boards of the two sides are now believed to be considering a three-match series in late January.
The Windies' tour of the island has been marred by incessant rain and inclement weather, which partially contributed to a 0-0 stalemate in the recent three-Test series.
