Jagdeo unhappy with forest progress

Guyana's President Bharrat Jagdeo says he’s unhappy with the slow pace of disbursement of millions of dollars from Norway for a much-touted forest protection programme.
Jagdeo has been attending the UN climate change summit in Cancun, where delegates hope to reach a deal on compensation for halting the destruction of forests in developing countries.
Jagdeo says none of the money pledged for projects had been expended, even though Guyana had met conditions demanded by the Norwegians.
He has described the process as a bureaucratic and humiliating nightmare.
He also says it carries political risks for his administration.
