The polls in St Vincent and the Grenadines have closed with election authorities saying voting went smoothly for the most part.
Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves and his Unity Labour Party are facing a challenge from the Arnhim Eustace-led New Democratic Party.
A smaller third party, the Greens, is also fielding candidates in the race for seats in the 15-member parliament.
More than 100,000 people are eligible to choose a new government.
The election is being monitored by representatives from CARICOM, the OAS and the Commonwealth.
