The FIFA Goal Project will be relocated to the University of the West Indies (UWI) on six-and-half acres of land donated by the institution.

The relocation came two months after FIFA President Joseph ‘Sepp’ Blatter approved the Jamaica Football Federation’s request to dispose of the unfinished Goal Project and Football Academy in Malvern, St. Elizabeth.

The announcement of the new site for the Football Academy came at a Press Conference at the Mona visitors’ Lodge and Conference Centre at the UWI.

The facility will consist of three football fields, an Academy Centre building, dormitories, a public park, community netball and basketball courts and public car parking area.

Other developments include the remodeling and further development of the UWI Bowl, which is expected to see the building of a US$5 million, lighted mini-stadium and the expansion of current pool facilities.
