Former Grenada minister decides to be independent voice

A former Grenada government minister, who resigned after being demoted in a government reshuffle, has decided to be an independent voice in parliament.
Michael Church, who was demoted from Environment Minister to a junior position, says he will not be a rubberstamp for the government.
Church now sits in Parliament as a government back-bencher.
He declared his new status during the first sitting of parliament since the public fall-out between Prime Minister Tillman Thomas and members of his cabinet more than a month ago.
The reshuffle briefly threatened the administration of Prime Minister Thomas after some ministers stalled on accepting their re-assignments.
