No medals for Jamaica

The 10th FINA World Swimming Championships in Dubai, United Arab Emirates ended yesterday with Jamaica failing to secure a medal at the five-day meet.
Jamaica’s final medal hope ended in disappointment as Olympian Alia Atkinson finish eighth and last in the Women’s 200-metre breaststroke final.
Atkinson clocked two minutes 25.49 seconds. The event was won by American Rebecca Soni in a championship record two minutes 16.39 seconds.
Earlier, Jamaica’s other swimmer Victoria Hoo clocked a personal-best two minutes 2.9 seconds in the women’s 200-metre freestyle but did not progress to the final.
