Out-of-favour batsman Sewnarine Chattergoon has been called up to replace the injured Narsingh Deonarine in the Guyana squad for next month’s Caribbean 20/20 Championship.

The 27-year-old Deonarine was named in the original 14-man squad named last week but continues to struggle with a shoulder injury which has prevented him from practicing.

Guyana, who won this year’s inaugural tournament by beating Barbados in the final, face Jamaica in their opening match of the January 10 to 23 tournament in Antigua.

The Guyanese, who won the first regional 20/20 tournament in the West Indies in Antigua four years ago before losing to Jamaica in the semi-final of the next one, two years later, will travel to Trinidad on December 27 for three practice matches before returning home on December 31.
