Hanover wins Senior Cup title

Hanover produced a good performance yesterday to score an outright victory over Kensington in the final of the two-day Jamaica Cricket Association’s Senior Cup at Sabina Park.



Resuming yesterday’s final day on 95 for two replying to Hanover’s first innings total of 197, Kensington were bowled out for 173.



Batting a second time, Hanover with a first innings lead of 24 were bowled out for 100 against the bowling of leg spinner Akeem Dewar seven for 35 and Dennis Bulli three for 25.



Set 125 runs for victory Kensington could only manage 80 with pacer Hugh Blackwood doing most of the damage with seven for 34.



For the victory, Hanover received $300,000 and automatic qualification to the semi-professional Super Cup.



Kensington received $100 thousand and will now playoff with Westmoreland next weekend for the final spot in the semi-professional league.
