Local track and field season starts next Saturday

The 2011 local track and field season will get underway next Saturday, with the 18th staging of the Wata/Jamaica College development meet at the school.
The meet is scheduled to start at 8.30 a.m.
As customary, an outstanding individual who has contributed significantly to the school will be honoured and this year’s honouree will be Alfred Henry, head coach of the senior football team.
The Wata/JC meet is one of the qualifying meets for Boys’ and Girls’ Athletic Championships, which will be held in March.
High school male athletes will compete in Under-19, Under-16 and Under-14 age categories in classes one to four, while the females will compete in Under-19, Under-17, Under-15 and Under-13 divisions in classes one to four also.
Additionally, there will also be a category for clubs and institutions.
