Trinidad first president dies

The last Governor General and first President of Trinidad and Tobago, Sir Ellis Clarke, is dead.
Sir Ellis died last night after suffering a stroke on November 24.
Sir Ellis, an attorney, who celebrated his 93rd birthday on Tuesday, had also served as ambassador to the United States and Mexico and permanent representative to the United Nations.
Sir Ellis was the author of the Trinidad and Tobago’s Constitution.
