Jamaica 20/20 squad to depart for Antigua

Jamaica’s 14-man cricket squad will depart the country tomorrow for Antigua to compete in the second edition of the Caribbean 20/20 Championship, which bowls off next week.
The first half of the competition will take place in Antigua from January 10 to 15, while Barbados will host the final leg.
Jamaica, under new coach Gus Logie, wrapped up their preparation yesterday with their top batsmen failing against a Ballards Valley Invitational Eleven team in southern St Elizabeth.
Xavier Marshall, David Bernard Junior and Marlon Samuels all made ducks, but the Jamaicans got home by 19 runs.
Batting first Jamaica recovered from three runs for three wickets to post 123 with Shawn Findlay 34 and Danza Hyatt 26 scoring most runs.
Jerome Taylor picked up three wickets for four runs to limit Ballards Valley Invitational Eleven to 105.
Jamaica will clash in Group A with defending champions Guyana, Windward Islands, Combined Campuses and Colleges and English County side Somerset.
