Contract agreement reached between JFF, PLCA

The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), and the Premier League Clubs’ Association (PLCA), have reached an agreement over the contentious four-year contracts, which the players refused to sign last month.

Following a meeting between the JFF and the PLCA yesterday, Captain Horace Burrell, president of the local body, said the parties were satisfied.

Captain Burrell says details of the new contract would be disclosed following a final draw next week.

A new four-year contract was issued to players following their return from the Digicel Caribbean Cup in Martinique in December.

The contract came following the players’ ultimatum to the JFF for better wages during the Digicel Caribbean Cup.

The Reggae Boyz threatened to withdraw their services at the Martinique tournament unless their demands for more per diem and a bigger slice of prize monies won were guaranteed.

The JFF met the players’ demands in order for them to continue the tournament.
