Windies Women prepare for 2nd ODI

West Indies Women are now preparing for the second One-Day International against hosts India on Thursday following a historic nine-wicket victory in the opening game yesterday.
The Caribbean side was led to victory by Jamaica’s Stafanie Taylor, who slammed a half-century at the Bandra Kurla Complex.
Taylor struck 10 fours in an unbeaten 85 from 122 balls, as the Windies Women, chasing 162 for victory, reached their target with 79 balls remaining.
Shanel Daley, also of Jamaica, was 44 not out at the end and shared an unbeaten 137 for the second wicket with Taylor.
Earlier, off-spinner Anisa Mohammed captured four wickets for 27 runs to help dismiss India Women for 161 in 49.3 overs.
Taylor supported with two for 20 from eight overs with her uncomplicated off-spin.
The result handed the Windies Women a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
It also gave the visitors their first-ever One Day International victory over the hosts in 10 attempts, which included two losses at the last two Women’s World Cups.
