Proteas thrash India by 135 runs

Lonwabo Tsotsobe grabbed four wickets as hosts South Africa turned in a good performance to thrash India by 135 runs in the first one-day international in Durban today.



Morne Morkel and Dale Steyn took two wickets apiece to send the tourists crumbling to 154 all out in pursuit of a 290 victory target at Kingsmead.



Virat Kohli top scored for India with 54, while Suresh Raina chipped in with 32 and M.S. Dohni 25.



Earlier, South Africa made 289 for nine. The home side's innings was built around a trio of half centuries from AB de Villiers 76, JP Duminy 73 and Hashim Amla 50.



Rohit Sharma, Munaf Patel and Zaheer Khan picked up two wickets each for India.



The second match will take place in Johannesburg on Saturday.
