St. Lucia\'s opposition leader Kenny Anthony has called for government intervention to stop what he calls the warfare in the banana industry.
He is also pressing for an audit into the finances of exporting company Wibdeco.
Dr. Anthony spoke against the backdrop of the dissolution on Sunday, of the Board of Directors of the Saint Lucia Banana Corporation at a stormy shareholders meeting.
The Chairman of the Board of the Corporation had to be escorted out of the session by heavily armed Police.
Dr. Anthony said the government should have tried to bring all the key stakeholders together to address the problems in the banana industry.
