Politics must change after Arizona attack
Former President Bill Clinton says the US political climate must change after the shooting of a US Congresswoman and others in Arizona.
Some commentators suggest the bitter political rhetoric in the US may have contributed in some way to the attack.
Clinton is calling for the US House of Representatives to lead the way in toning down the political discourse.
Meanwhile, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer yesterday signed emergency legislation into law, prohibiting protests within 300 feet of a funeral or burial service.
22-year-old Jared Loughner, has been charged over the shooting, in which six people were killed, including a federal judge and a 9-year-old girl, and more than a dozen injured.
In an initial court appearance on Monday he was ordered jailed pending trial.
