American men’s track and field coach Bubba Thornton warns Jamaican world record-holder Usain Bolt not to dwell on his victory over Tyson Gay.
Bolt handed Gay a heavy defeat at the Reebok Grand Prix in New York on May 31, when he broke the world record with a sizzling run of 9.72 seconds.
Thornston said Bolt’s victory over Gay did not mean much citing that the real challenge will come in Beijing.
On Sunday, Gay became the fastest man in any conditions when he ran a phenomenal wind-assisted 9.68 seconds to win the 100-metre crown at the US Olympic trials in Eugene.
That time came after his American record of 9.77 seconds on Saturday.
