Olympic squad named
Facey was named although failing to make the women’s 100-metre final at the National Trials at the National Stadium last weekend.
The fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt and reigning 200-metre Olympic champion Veronica Campbell-Brown lead the squad.
Other top names in the squad are former 100-metre record holder Asafa Powell, Danny McFarlane, who won silver in the 400-metre hurdles at the Athens Games in 2004 and World Championships silver medallist in the decathlon, Maurice Smith.
Sherone Simpson and Aleen Bailey, members of Jamaica’s winning 4 by 100 relay team in Athens are also included.
The female squad also includes Brigitte Foster-Hylton, Delloreen Ennis London and Novlene Williams-Mills, all medallists at last year’s World Championships.
30 athletes of the squad will make their first trip to the Olympics.
