Election officials in Haiti and international observers are discussing their next move regarding November's presidential election, after the second round of voting was postponed because of a row over who should be on the ballot.
The run-off vote should have been held yesterday.
However, the election council’s inclusion of the government candidate, Jude Celestin, on the ballot, along with first-round winner, Mirlande Manigat, prompted violent protests.
A review by the Organisation of American States (OAS), delivered to President Rene Preval on Thursday, is said to have concluded that the second run-off slot should go to the singer, Michel Martelly.
