The Institute of Sports Primary football league received a major boost yesterday as telecommunications company LIME announced a three-year sponsorship package valued at $60 million to become title sponsors.

Chairman of LIME Jamaica, Chris Dehring made the announcement at a press conference at the Terra Nova Hotel.

Dehring says the $60 million investment is indicative of the company belief in the power of sports to drive the personal development of the country’s young people.

The money will finance the procurement of football gear for participating teams and equipment for the match venues.

LIME will also fund a technical development programme for the players and offset match and referee fees, venue preparation as well as other administrative costs.

As stipulated by FIFA, the players will compete on smaller fields and used smaller balls.
