The Caribbean Conference of Churches is calling for a constructive, responsible and hopeful approach to help make the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME) a reality.
The church group said it is disappointed with recent comments made about the initiative by St. Vincent Prime Minister, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, who questioned whether the CARICOM single economy would actually be realised.
The Conference of Churches said it recognises that the undertaking of the CSME will pose significant and unprecedented challenges to the region.
It said rather than being seen as a deterrent, the perceived challenge should be greater motivation to work harder at realising the CSME vision.
