Haiti candidate to quit

Supporters of Haiti's governing party candidate, Jude Celestin, has confirmed that he’ll withdraw from the second round of the disputed presidential election.

Celestin has been under international pressure to quit after monitors found that first round results had been rigged in his favour.

If confirmed, the decision will clear the way for a delayed run-off between former first lady Mirlande Manigat and pop star Michel Martelly.

The US and the UN have both called for Celestin to pull out of the race.
