A fire on a ferry in Indonesia has killed at least seven people, with dozens more reported to be still trapped on the boat up to late last night.
The fire broke out after the ferry left Merak port on Java Island, heading for Sumatra.
Of the estimated 200 people on board, officials say around 100 people had been rescued late last night.
The survivors were reportedly those who abandoned ship wearing lifejackets.
The bodies of the dead and more than 30 injured people were taken to a nearby hospital.
Ferries are a main source of transportation given Indonesia's thousands of islands, and accidents are common due to overcrowding and poor safety standards.
