A trade union leader in St Lucia has scoffed at attempts in some Caribbean countries to widen lie detector testing as a means of rooting out corruption in the public sector.
The President of the St Lucian Trade Union Federation Julian Monrose says the wrong targets are being pursued.
According to Monrose, the polygraph tests should be administered to politicians who he says are the most corrupt people in Caribbean societies.
Just last week, Jamaica’s National Security Minister Dwight Nelson announced the government’s intention to have public sector workers in high positions take lie detector tests.
