Dominica gets grant from Venezuela

Dominica has received an $8 million grant from Venezuela to establish a multi-purpose meat processing plant.



Head of the Agriculture Investment Unit Dr. John Toussaint says livestock farmers would receive financial assistance from the programme.



However, he has lamented the fact that over the years, local livestock farmers have been unable to engage in the export trade because of the lack of a proper facility to produce livestock products.



He says the programme involves providing technical assistance to the farmers to develop their farms.
