West Indies players retain ODI top 10 spot

Premier West Indies players Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Jerome Taylor have retained Top-10 spots in the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) One Day International rankings.



In the latest ICC Reliance Mobile ODI Player Rankings released yesterday, Chanderpaul is listed at Number five among the batsmen and Taylor is eighth on the bowlers’ list.



Chris Gayle, at 17th, is the only other West Indian in the batting Top-20.



South Africa’s captain Graeme Smith retains the Number 1 position in batting, stalked by India’s Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who jumps two places up to Number 2.



Taylor shares eighth with Australian Brett Lee, while Daren Powell, at 11th and is the only other West Indian among the bowling in the Top-20.



Australian pacer Nathan Bracken takes over from New Zealand’s Daniel Vettori in the Number One bowling spot.
