Barnett, Johnson take top spot at trials

Tanice Barnett and Demar Johnson took top honours at the Cross Country Trials at Manchester Golf Club in Mandeville yesterday.



Barnett won the senior women’s 6k in 25 minutes, 30 seconds ahead of Arusha McKenzie, 28 minutes, 21 seconds. Amoya Bailey was third in 28 minutes, 26 seconds.



Johnson took the senior men’s 8k in 29 minutes, 10 seconds. Kirk Brown finished second in 29 minutes, 11 seconds, while Shawn Pitter took third in 29 minutes, 39 seconds.



The junior women’s 4k was won by Aleitha McLaughlin in 17 minutes, 11 seconds and Oraine Wint took the junior men’s 6k in 22 minutes, 16 seconds.
