Mark My Word- a cinch for Horse of the Year

Last year’s champions of local horseracing will be presented with their trophies at the None Such/Horse of the Years Awards ceremony and dinner at the Courtleigh Auditorium in New Kingston tonight.



The highly acclaimed motion picture, Secretariat, which was released in the United States last year, will be shown following the presentations.



The big award, for the Horse of the Year title, should be presented to the 2010 Triple Crown and Superstakes winner, Mark My Word.



Another highlight of the night will be the presentation of the coveted None Such Award, to a person or institution whose lifetime endeavours in the field of Jamaican Thoroughbred racing has embodied excellence, innovation, leadership and/or unparalleled achievement.



Awards determined by balloting include ‘Horse of The Year, first and second runners-up, champion 2-year-old, champion 3-year-old, champion sprinter, champion middle distance performer, champion stayer, most improved trainer and jockey.
